Who are Interhort?

We are a long established (1964) family run business spanning four generations. Interhort is part of the KG Loach Wholesale Garden Supplies Group. A British owned company who have been trading from the Congleton area since 1964. We specialise in Horticultural Supplies and deliver throughout the United Kingdom to horticultural & associated businesses and discerning amateur growers as well as keen leisure gardneners. Where are they based?

We operate from our Congleton in Cheshire, England. From this site we perform all our distribution and sales activities.

What does trade only mean?

In addition to our normal sales, we also supply many types of horticultural companies throughout the UK. These companies will have access to bulk discounts and credit facilities based on the volume of product they purchase. These discounts range dependant on volume. If you are a horticultural trade business, please see our "TRADE ONLY" page for more detailed information. In addition to this, any product showing "trade only" on the thumb nail view can only be purchased by customers holding the correct BASIS certificates & qualifications to use and store such products. As part of the check out process you will be asked to confirm this information.

My Delivery Address Does Not Have a Postcode?

If your delivery address does not have a post code, for example an allotment society, the system does not allow you to place your order without this field being completed. If you do not have a post code, please enter the following: AA1 1ZZ and please provide as much delivery address information as you can.

Why is there a minimum order value?

Most of our business is the supply of bulk products delivered on pallets and would normally be sent out via a haulier using a large rigid lorry equipped with a tail lift. We will always arrange a delivery date with you before dispatching. Bulk orders will not be delivered until you are happy with the arrangements made. We deliver anything from 1 pallet to 24 pallets and these can only be delivered to kerbside using a vehicle equipped with a tail lift.  You must only order if you are capable in dealing with the delivery when it arrives, we cannot be left messages to "leave somewhere" as this is not possible.

When bulk deliveries are made on pallet(s) the customer is fully responsible for the pallets received. You must call us to arrange collection of the CHEP (blue) pallets when they are ready, there is no charge for this service. If pallets are disposed of by you, you  will be fully liable for CHEP to charge you £14.00 + vat per pallet.

Although most of our business is the supply of bulk products on pallets, we do deliver small parcel orders. A small delivery is classed as any order totaling 120kgs or less that can be sent as a cartons/parcels. These orders would normally be sent via UPS parcel services. We will always email you on the day your order has been collected by UPS so you know your order will be with you shortly, if you provide us your mobile number we will send you a text when your order is despatched. If you are unable to receive your order on that day, UPS will give you the option to have it delivered to an alternative address or will make 2 more attempts to deliver it to your original address. 

Why do I pay a delivery charge?

Free delivery is available on 80% of UK postcodes, however certain areas incur surcharges due to their remote or difficult to get to locations. These location surcharges are applied as per the addtional charges we incur, we DO NOT make profit from any delivery surcharges. Most of our business is the supply of bulk products on pallets, and therefore this is why we have a high minimum order spend to attain free delivery. With the average cost of a pallet costing £40 to deliver, we have to have a higher than normal minimum spend. However, most online garden supply companies will NOT supply the vast range of bulk garden products that we offer.

Is vat included in the prices?

As this is primarily a trade website, VAT is NOT INCLUDED in the prices shown. When placing an order your shopping basket will show the prices excluding vat and give you a subtotal and a vat total. This will also apply to any relevant delivery charges. If a product does not say 'inc vat' next to it then this item is a zero rated product and no vat is applicable.

What is the “Just for you service”?

As part of our customer service policy we will always try to keep any product (that you use on a regular basis) in stock “Just for you”. This is particularly useful as there is such a huge range of products available in this market and it is not always possible to find one place that meets all your requirements.

How do I open a Trade Credit Account?

Print out the Trade Account Application Form and send your completed form with 2 copies of recent trade supplier credit invoices over the value of £100.00. We require copies from two separate trade suppliers. If successful we will email you your account number and password to access the trade account facilities. A credit account allows you to order your goods ‘on account’ and then pay for your order within a set time period (usually 30days). This makes ordering online fast and simple. The facility is normally only available to people, companies and societies that are related to horticulture, amenity or any other associated trades, although exceptions can be made.

Who do Interhort Supply?

We are a horticultural distribution company supplying goods to the horticultural trade and retail customers wishing to buy in bulk. Are main business is focused on horticultural companies, however retail customers can purchase "retail only" products listed. Where commercial chemicals are offered, these are strictly for trade users with the correct certificates and qualifications to purchase and use such products. These items are clearly marked "TRADE ONLY" on the thumbnail views. If a member of the public attempts to purchase this type of product - the order will be cancelled and money refunded.
